The Climate

Makarska Riviera has characteristics of Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot with the periods of drought, and the rest of the seasons are characterized by rains and moderate temperatures. The highest temperatures are in July and August. At the areas that are exposed to strong winds, the temperature at night can fall below 0 Celsius degrees.

Baška Voda is characterized by mild, humid winters and hot, sunny and dry summers. The average temperatures are: in July: air: 24, 4 Celsius degrees (sea temperature is 25 Celsius degrees) and in January – air: 8, 3 Celsius degrees (sea temperature is 13, 5 Celsius degrees). Baška Voda has over 2700 sunny days in a year and it is located in the one of the sunniest areas of the northern Mediterranean. On average, over 40 days in a year are warmer than 30 Celsius degrees, and only 7 days are below 0.
